Daily sky quiz
Five questions a day, the same for everyone. Every answer is worked out with the same calculations as the tools, so each one teaches something you can use at the telescope.

Questions
When do new questions appear?
At midnight UTC. Everyone gets the same five questions on the same day, so you can compare scores.
Where do the answers come from?
From the same code as the tools: the imaging planner for target altitudes and seasons, astronomy-engine for the moon, the NPF rule for tripod exposures, and the back-focus and exposure formulas. Target facts come from OpenNGC.
Why does a question say 45° N?
Questions about tonight or a season need a location, and everyone gets the same questions, so they use 45° N, the latitude of Minneapolis, Bordeaux and Turin. Use the imaging planner for your own location.
Is my score saved anywhere?
Only in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and clearing site data resets your streak.
